little mouse

Firstly, I'm sorry I've not been around these parts lately. I had a bit of time off for my birthday and have got caught up with other such things that have distracted me from this, my happy little space on the world wide web.

But I'm back now dearies. So for those who don't follow me on Instagram here is little Mouse (those who do have probably seen more than enough of my furry little friend). Little Mouse is our new teeny tiny kitten. I must apologise for the second time in this post (which doesn't bode well) as the quality of these photos is rather shoddy, I've only managed to take photos of her on my phone. We've had rather a lot of trouble getting her and my other cat Bootsy acquainted you see, lots of scrapping and sleepless nights I tell yee so I haven't managed to get my camera out much, a fact I will soon rectify.

Here she is when we first got her, just over a week ago. So shy.

And here she is moments after. So terrified.

We had to keep her shut away in the bathroom for the first five days so that we could slowly introduce her to Bootsy Cat. I found this so heart breaking to keep her shut away but unfortunately we had to. I don't know who was more upset on the first night, me or her. I read to her lots which seemed to relax her. The first two days I went for Monty Don, The Ivington Diaries, after that we moved on to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll of course. Yes in case you are guessing, I am turning into a crazy cat lady.

The first few days Mouse slept a lot but after a while she started to feel comfortable with us and her playful side came out.

When the fear of Bootsy possibly mauling her was over we let her out. They still occasionally fight but there's been lots of nose and cheek rubbing, grooming each other and some snuggling up together, good signs that they will hopefully become the bestest of best friends soon.

Me and Allsy love her so much too. She is the sweetest most loving cat I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She just wants to cuddle and snuggle up with you to which we are only too happy to oblige. I feel so lucky to have her.

  1. Oh poor little guy, that doesn't sound ideal shutting her away in the bathroom. Sounds like a tough time for you guys, but all is well now I see.

    1. I know I felt so awful but it's what they recommend and it seems to have worked. We both took it in turns to sit with her in there so she wasn't alone for huge amounts of time (I even slept in there which was extremely uncomfortable) but I still felt rotten. My lovely little mouse is out now though and seems a very happy cat indeed.

  2. Aww so cute. It takes patience having the new kitty in the house when already having a cat at home. I am happy to see that he has settled ok. And I am happy that you are a crazy cat lady because I am too!
