bunting

A couple of weekends ago I made bunting out of paper and string. I then drew smiley faces on it. It's funny how much a bit of paper and string can cheer you up.

Other things that have been making me smile recently are:

Breaking Bad final series.
Furze Chan's dolls.

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone x

world's jazziest cushion

The past two Monday's I've been at my Nanan's house making the world's jazziest cushion out of fabric scraps and stuffing from cut up pillows for my two little cats to cuddle up on. My Nanan helped me a lot, and I mean a lot.

I proudly took it home last night to show the cats who weren't all that interested.

Tonight we tried tricking my little cat Mouse to sit on it by putting cat treats on it and one of her favourite toys.

Intrigue got the better of her.

And before long she was using it as mountain to climb.

A hurdle to leap over.

And a wrestling ring where she was going head to head with her arch-nemesis, the yellow butterfly.

As of yet no cuddling up has occurred on the world's jazziest cushion.

To be continued...

workspaces

Happy Friday guys and gals

I have to come clean with you all, recently I haven't been gardening. Other than a spot of dead-heading and watering, no hardcore gardening has taken place on my land. I know I know, I feel thoroughly ashamed. The problem is that recently I have been obsessing over ideas for the house. The house is looking rather tired and me and Allsy are desperate to have a proper sort and clear out and to finally get around to decorating the living room and kitchen to more how we'd like it. I am someone who once I get an idea in my head it's all I can think of, that is precisely what's happening now.

I have been doing lots of browsing of the internet and quite a bit of pinning of images, looking for inspiration and ideas for the house. One of the main areas that I've been wanting to sort out is Allsy's desk area. Our living room is teeny tiny but is used for a multitude of purposes, it's Allsy's recording studio (he has a lot of music equipment), it's where we both draw, paint, do collages, write, read, watch films and programmes and everything in between. Every bit of space in this room is vital and in its current state just isn't right. Here's what it looks like at the moment.

You can't tell here but the table takes up a huge amount of space, it has lots of space behind due to the fact it's round, it also is a gate legged table with eight legs in total so you can't fit any storage underneath it (hence the printer to the side) and the style isn't quite right for us for this room. Don't worry though, the table will hopefully be put to good use in our spare bedroom as a crafting table when we finally get round to sorting it out, would you believe we still have unpacked boxes after living here for almost two years?!

Anyhoo, I'm starting to get an idea of how I'd like that area to look, here are some of the images that have been inspiring me...

flowers

Good day to you all.

I am pleased to say that I have finally been out and about in the garden again with my proper camera. It's been a wee while, it felt so good to be using it again and was a good opportunity to practice some of the techniques I learnt in my photography course a few weeks ago. Am quite pleased with some of the shots and certainly felt like I had more control and knowledge of the camera than what I had prior to attending the course, hopefully that shows.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, whatever you may be doing.

little mouse

Firstly, I'm sorry I've not been around these parts lately. I had a bit of time off for my birthday and have got caught up with other such things that have distracted me from this, my happy little space on the world wide web.

But I'm back now dearies. So for those who don't follow me on Instagram here is little Mouse (those who do have probably seen more than enough of my furry little friend). Little Mouse is our new teeny tiny kitten. I must apologise for the second time in this post (which doesn't bode well) as the quality of these photos is rather shoddy, I've only managed to take photos of her on my phone. We've had rather a lot of trouble getting her and my other cat Bootsy acquainted you see, lots of scrapping and sleepless nights I tell yee so I haven't managed to get my camera out much, a fact I will soon rectify.

Here she is when we first got her, just over a week ago. So shy.

And here she is moments after. So terrified.

We had to keep her shut away in the bathroom for the first five days so that we could slowly introduce her to Bootsy Cat. I found this so heart breaking to keep her shut away but unfortunately we had to. I don't know who was more upset on the first night, me or her. I read to her lots which seemed to relax her. The first two days I went for Monty Don, The Ivington Diaries, after that we moved on to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll of course. Yes in case you are guessing, I am turning into a crazy cat lady.

The first few days Mouse slept a lot but after a while she started to feel comfortable with us and her playful side came out.

When the fear of Bootsy possibly mauling her was over we let her out. They still occasionally fight but there's been lots of nose and cheek rubbing, grooming each other and some snuggling up together, good signs that they will hopefully become the bestest of best friends soon.

Me and Allsy love her so much too. She is the sweetest most loving cat I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She just wants to cuddle and snuggle up with you to which we are only too happy to oblige. I feel so lucky to have her.
