Today has been a good day. I knew it was going to be a good day as soon as I was woken by the smells of coffee and scrambled eggs cooking and the sounds of Billie Holiday coming from downstairs (thank you Allsy!)
Today was the day that I also finally got around to hanging up the curtains in our bedroom, only two months after we finished decorating so that's not bad going for me. Although, technically I haven't finished decorating yet as I still have a cupboard to paint but lets not nitpick (Oh and I also have the window and door frames to paint, oh and all the rubbish under the bed to sort but let's pretend that I don't, just for a moment).

The curtains are vintage, by which I mean, pre-loved and stained, I do love them a ridiculous amount though.
To celebrate this momentous occasion in our household I picked a few flowers from the garden. I've decided to keep it simple this week as I have a tendency to overdo it.
People who followed my blog earlier this year may have noticed that I got rid of the bare plaster walls. I ummed and ahhed about it a lot and in the end went with the tough choice of painting over them. Trust me, it was the right decision. I love that the walls still have texture and it feels much lighter and cleaner with them painted.
Although I do miss this little man.
I am also joining in with Lou's Nature in the Home Series again today. The flowers were from my own garden, so not technically foraged this week. If I say I took them without asking my own permission does that count...
Love the curtains x mumly

DeleteGorgeous flowers and photos as always afternibbin. You certainly know your way around nature and a lens... You know, Leroy used to have some curtains just like yours in his spare room, but we gave them away when we cleared it out. I wonder...

Perhaps. Did he leave a suspicious brown stain on the bottom left corner of one of the curtains, if so they may just well be... :)
DeleteLove the curtain fabric. And your vase...
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah x
DeleteSuch a beautiful selections of flowers (and the gorgeous vase). I must admit, I'm pretty envious of your deep windowsills, sigh.
ReplyDeleteThanks Imogen, the windowsills were one of the things I fell in love with when I first saw the house, I do like a windowsill that you can sit upon, it makes me feel small again :)
DeleteThey are gorgeous and fit in beautifully - vintage is the best.

I agree, vintage is the best. These were far cheaper than a brand spanking new pair too which makes me love them all the more :)
