workspaces

Happy Friday guys and gals

I have to come clean with you all, recently I haven't been gardening. Other than a spot of dead-heading and watering, no hardcore gardening has taken place on my land. I know I know, I feel thoroughly ashamed. The problem is that recently I have been obsessing over ideas for the house. The house is looking rather tired and me and Allsy are desperate to have a proper sort and clear out and to finally get around to decorating the living room and kitchen to more how we'd like it. I am someone who once I get an idea in my head it's all I can think of, that is precisely what's happening now.

I have been doing lots of browsing of the internet and quite a bit of pinning of images, looking for inspiration and ideas for the house. One of the main areas that I've been wanting to sort out is Allsy's desk area. Our living room is teeny tiny but is used for a multitude of purposes, it's Allsy's recording studio (he has a lot of music equipment), it's where we both draw, paint, do collages, write, read, watch films and programmes and everything in between. Every bit of space in this room is vital and in its current state just isn't right. Here's what it looks like at the moment.

You can't tell here but the table takes up a huge amount of space, it has lots of space behind due to the fact it's round, it also is a gate legged table with eight legs in total so you can't fit any storage underneath it (hence the printer to the side) and the style isn't quite right for us for this room. Don't worry though, the table will hopefully be put to good use in our spare bedroom as a crafting table when we finally get round to sorting it out, would you believe we still have unpacked boxes after living here for almost two years?!

Anyhoo, I'm starting to get an idea of how I'd like that area to look, here are some of the images that have been inspiring me...

  1. I think about this a lot and I also have a Pinterest board with a similar theme. I like your current space, though; the bookshelf all around near the ceiling is really nice.

    1. Thank you, it's one of those plate rail things, it probably could be put to better use, for showing off your pretty things perhaps, but we have no space for our hundreds of books so have to try and fit them where we can.

  2. I've been plotting similar too - it's a big deal getting it right isn't it? x

    1. Haha it so is!! I tend to obsess for months over it, then I hardly ever do anything I've planned if I'm honest.
