Today me and Allsy went for a wander down the lane we live on. It's strange how much the lane transforms during the year, with each season the mood completely changes. During the spring and summer, it's an amazing place to live and I feel very blessed but during the winter it's a completely different matter. It's cold and bleak and with the absence of street lights and very few neighbours it's also quite scary. When we moved in to the cottage December last year I absolutely hated it. I cried a lot, constantly thought I saw faces at the window and the sheer silence terrified me. I desperately wanted to move but I'm so glad I stuck with the house as come springtime it suddenly changed, the air felt different somehow, it became a happy place to live.

Gosh that is quite a collection. A+ award goes to you with biggest display and most eclectic. It's just beautiful. And I am in envy of your deep cottage windowsills and that vase collection!!! Lou x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think I got a bit giddy with the secateurs, a few walkers looked at me a bit strangely with my hands crammed full of branches and weeds!! :)
DeleteYou live in such a gorgeous area, I am quite jealous. And you did well with the foraging too. What a display! And your vases and windows are really something. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Gillian, we feel very lucky to live here, there's also no way I would have dared forage that much if it wasn't on my doorstep! :)
