knick knacks

Last week I received the below items from my grandma and her friend and I thought I’d share them with you. My heart skips a beat with anything old, don’t you think that antique and vintage items have so much more character…
For instance this fruit bowl (which comes with 5 mini fruit bowls) was my grandma’s mums and apparently sat in her dresser, only coming out for special occasions such as birthdays and Christmases. Can you imagine how treasured this was. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but it would break my heart if something so loved was just thrown away or never used again.

And this china casserole dish (from my grandma’s friend) is so cool, it looks very autumnal.

My grandma also kindly gave me this bowl which I’m using as a pinch pot for my salt, so cute.

And finally, my grandma's friend gave me this vase and bowl which should go beautifully in my bedroom once I’ve decorated. I’m relegating virtually everything pretty to there, may even get my cotton doilies and embroidered tablecloths back out of retirement, although I don't think Allsy would be too pleased about that.

  1. Hello! I've just found your blog after reading some of the comments on Junkaholique. It looks a bit like mine (except yours has nice drawings with it!)
I'll keep visiting and I like what you're writing about:)
